The installation of artificial grass typically begins with preparation of the area. Preparing the area where you want your new synthetic turf is important so that it is ready for you to install the grass. You will want to make sure the ground is leveled, compacted and cleared of any debris. It is common to lay down weed barrier fabric to stop weeds from growing through the artificial grass.
Once you have the area prepared, you can begin installation! Here are the basic steps for installation of artificial grass.
Installation of the Base Layer: Spread a layer of crushed stone or sand over the prepared area to provide a stable base to lay the synthetic grass.
Laying the Synthetic Turf: Unroll the artificial grass rolls and secure those to the base layer using adhesive or staples.
Seaming and Trimming: Seam together the edges of the fake grass. Unless they happen to fit perfectly, the rolls will likely need to be trimmed to fit the desired area.
Infill: Spread sand or some other kind of infill material over the artificial grass to stabilize the fibers and provide a natural look and feel.
